Thank you very much indeed for your exellent service, prompt
delivery and
general kindness. I´ve installed the RSR´s and all I can say
is that
everything written and said elsewere, homepages etc, is true.
Pure magic a
totally different car and a sound that bring back memories
from times gone
by. I just love it - perfectly wonderful noisy with an elegant
tuch. The
other items also to my liking - so once again thank you! I
will ship
original mufflers in a few days time and tomorrow it´s
trackday!!
I also found the instructions very helpful and made the job so
much more
easy - well done.
Todays trackevent went very well - managed to stay on the
track whole day
long and those who listned to the music made the same remark
as I, fantastic
music seldom heard these days.
It's a hell of a difference hard to believe without trying.

Uitlaat is binnen.
Klinkt geweldig, zeker wanneer de uitlaat warm is.
Ik ben erg tevreden over de RSR uitlaat en jullie service,

For anyone sitting on the fence...
I researched this quite intensively. If you want the best
sound, without boomy boxes, then go for the RSRs. I'm very
happy with mine. As for anything more exotic/antisocial, I
can't help you there, but I have heard some e.g. Cargraphics,
which seem awfully loud. Good on a turbo etc perhaps?
RSRs will pass the noise test on most trackday events...

The RSR are on, and I am the happiest man in my neighbourhood.
They are SENSATIONAL.
Even my wife prefers the sound :o))
I will return back to you my old mufflers tomorrow so will be
with you later this week. Many thanks

The RSR were assembled yesterday and I drove some km, but the
sound is fantastic! I am happy that the metallic and
higher sounds I got from the sports kat have not been lost. I
am keen to see what happens after 100km, I guess you should
use the highway to get some heat through it.

Hej Gert!

Hi there Gert.....just a quick note to say how pleased I am
with the sound of the RSR's...they really do bring the Porsche
engine sound to the fore without being intrusive, they are
absolutel fine at motorway speed no drooning whatsoever. By
the time I was back in London they sounded wonderful.

Erg tevreden
mee.

The RSR’s are super, they were fitted at the same time as some
100 Cell Cats…the noise!!! Glorious!!!

Trip Reports
Well I/we took a day trip to see Gert in Belgium to have RSR's
fitted to my 993. I must say I am more than pleased with them,
they make the car sound more Porsche like, if you know what I
mean, with a definite added burble especailly on tickover. By
the time I was back in London they had "matured" nicely and
sounded great, felt like taking a detour to use the underpass
at Hyde Park but will leave that for another day.
Gert has a very good facility at his house, a very big
workshop, and is a really nice bloke and very knowledgeable.
He also has a very nice self contained apartment that can be
used if you need to stay over.
Both he and his wife are very welcoming.
It only took a couple of hours for the boxes to be changed
over and that was with having to use an angle grinder to cut
through the seized bolts. I stayed and chatted with him while
he worked on my car and picked his brains some.
I didn't know that the mufflers have to come off to be able to
change the spark plugs so it seems mine might not have been
changed for some time although saying that the heat shields
were quite new so that might not be the case as I believe the
muffles have to come off for those to be fitted.
Another thing that he noticed was that I am indeed running on
the original shocks, which I suspected as I have been unable
to find any invoice for any work done on the suspension, so
that is a job that I want to get done in the near future in
fact I would say it is my immediate priority. I think I will
be going with Bilsteins as they seem to be well recommended.
The smaller roads in that part of Belgium are very uneven, it
was quite uncomfortable in the 993 even at low speeds, in fact
any speed, of course as my shocks are shot that made matters
even worse.
I would suggest to anyone wanting to take a trip over to see
Gert is to get some directions from him or use a Sat-Nav. I
got my directions from Google and I have to say they were less
than satisfactory, luckily I came across the Police station in
Brakel a small town near him and they kindly and in very good
English showed me the way and even photostated a map for me.
He does live in a very pretty rural setting but without good
direction or Sat-Nav his house and workshop are very hard to
find.
Gert gave us better direction to get back to Calais via Ronse
and mostly on motorways. I have got to say some of the road
signeage in Belgium leaves a lot to be desired, especailly on
the lesser roads, then it was often hit or miss at a junction
or roundabout which direction to take as a town name that one
was following would disappear for several junctions only to
reappear further down the road, very confusing. Perhaps it's
time I invested in a sat-Nav.
It took less that two hours to get back to Calais where I
wanted to eat at Le Chanel, about the best fish restaurant in
Calais only to find that it was shut for "Les vacances" until
next Saturday. There are lots of other places to eat in that
area of Calais and we ate quite a good meat in a Brasserie
called Cafe de Paris, the seafood extravaganza will have to
wait for the next trip over.
We left West London at 5.15am and caught the 7.50am Eurotunnel
train and were at Gert's around midday. We caught an earlier
than booked train back at 8.20 pm but were delayed in
unloading at the other end by a broken down vehicle in front
of us on the train that took 15 minutes to remove. We were
back home by 10.00 pm. A round trip of about 380 miles which
was less that I was anticipating.
A tiring trip but well wothwhile.

For anyone on the fence about the RSRs... Would highly
recommend it... Went over to Carnewal to see Gert this weekend
and had the modification (incl. motorshound airbox) and am
very happy with the result... Gert is a great chap, absolute
pleasure to deal, knows his 993s inside out and I'm very happy
with the new mufflers.
The car now sounds like it always should have, and is not
boomy or uncomfortable on the motorway...
Only thing i'd do differently next time is take an extra day
or two and spend it in brugge chilling out...
(not affiliated with carnewal in any way, just a v happy
customer)
